The Purpose and Goal
The fund will exist to enable kids who otherwise couldn't afford to participate in sport, go on in school, or to access further training in the creative arts, allowing them to participate more fully in mainstream areas of life.
The Board of Trustees will also be responsible for keeping trust funds invested in safe and productive financial instruments to insure the ongoing availability or income to support needy kids. To do this in Michael's name will provide and enhance positive growth in others. We Feel 100% confident that Michael would approve and get a big kick out of it. Michael always had a huge grin and the foundation will keep him smiling forever!
Background
Chris and Wendy Kokegei are well known in their community and among Australian Basketballers, having over 50 years of coaching experience between them. Chris has played and coached at Stet level for many years. Chris and Wendy have both coached basketball at ST Edwards School since their arrival on the Central Coast Thireteen Years ago, winning regional, state and national titles along the way. They both coach basketball with the Gosford City Rebels on the Central Coast, as well as, The Cnetral Coast Academy of Sport and at Country and State Levels.
Daugthers Ashlee and Jaymee have both played on Rep Teams and for their Schools. Both Sons, Matthew and Michael have also been involved at beginning levels. So Basketball and sport is an important part of their family life. But not only part, time with family.
