The hardest journey to undertake is usually the one that leads inwards before it leads onwards. It can be difficult to evaluate your own weaknesses and vulnerabilities, but potentially more so to identify your strengths and latent abilities. Taking the time to make this evaluation can be instrumental in making the changes and improvements that you are seeking in life. However, having someone to assist in this process of evaluation, and motivate you to continually set and achieve goals will greatly increase the chances of success. Derek is someone who can provide that assistance.

I had previously considered coaching as related to sports people only, and while Derek does use sporting analogies and helps to develop a “game plan” for success, he applies this to all aspects of life. I found him approachable and good humoured, and was constantly amazed at his ability to cite examples on any topic from his own personal experience, and show how these ideas could be applied to my own situation. His approach to finding solutions to problems was simple (or at least made the problem seem simple!) but effective. With his help and encouragement I have been able to continually extend myself and strive for improvement, and hope to keep doing so into the future.

Exceeded My Expectations

When I was first told about motivational talks and sessions, my first reaction to the whole idea was “I don’t need that life coaching because if I can get up in the morning, that’s motivation and I surely don’t need anyone to help me achieve that”. How wrong was I? Derek made us laugh, but he also made me reflect on how I go about the business and my personal life. With his great understanding of people and cultures, I think Derek is capable of motivation and inspiring any group of people through his life coaching techniques - both in a business context and in more social settings.
Having never experienced a life coaching session, I was naturally concerned that he could fulfil the need to send me off with a bang. Change The Way You Think

I want to compliment Derek for getting me really interested and motivated with his motivational speaking session. I consider myself as an active person and after only a couple of sessions with Derek I felt that I could achieve much more than the goals I had set before.

I came across a genuine, sincere individual of the highest character, who truly cared about the people present. When I was asked to attend the motivational session with Derek, I thought it would just be like those seminars who taught nothing new but the session was refreshing and it really impressed me.  Not only the content was wonderful but every interaction had a very positive impact on me. It affected me powerfully and I appreciated the interaction, time and the attitude of Derek during those sessions.
